How GPA is calculated

Each letter grade has grade points, such as 4.0 for an A and 3.0 for a B. Multiply the points by the course credits to get quality points, add them up, and divide by total credits.

This calculator uses the common unweighted 4.0 scale with plus and minus grades. Schools differ, for example in how they treat A+ or weighted honors classes, so check your registrar’s policy for official numbers.
